Over time, as we live life we become emotionally attached to the world around us... Cultural influences over our preferences, our pleasures, and our pursuits become paramount.  If we become too attached to the world, we begin to lose our free will, and we become enslaved to the world's influence over our thinking and over our behaviors.

Over time we have difficulty seeing the Love of God because the world has control over our mind.  Becoming free from our worldly attachments can become impossible because of fear.  Fear of ridicule, fear of isolation, and ultimately fear of death itself.  All these fears prevent us from re-cultivating a healthy relationship with our God.

By focusing on the Lord Jesus Christ, we're able to overcome all our fears and re-enter into a loving relationship with our Creator.  As we get to re-know God through Jesus Christ, we enter into Eternal Life, which is to know God and to know Christ.  True salvation is not about religion, it's about relationship.
